Many many months ago Giles Barnabe sent me photographs of Futtocks End. At long last Giles gets his well deserved Author medal (not that such a thing existed back in January, of course). At least I’ve got around to publishing the photos prior to the layout’s appearance at ExpoNG 2007! -EH.

1. General view of the mill and loco servicing area at Futtocks End. Steam loco no. 1 is seen arriving with a passenger train from the village; the coach uses the upper part of a Gnomy coach on a scratch-built body and chassis.

2. The diesel collects some coal wagons from the mill.

3. Looks like some reapirs are needed down the line, as the tool wagon is being loaded at the workshop

4. The saddle tank making up a goods train. The stream was added to get away from the flat-top look, but still needs some more work.

5. The diesel collects a wagons from the scrapyard siding. The locomotive is a reworked Lima switcher with less length and more height added. The door on the background shed can be opened for rail traffic

6. Loading vegetables at the store. Note the shed door is now open. The loco is a modified Hornby BEN and the driver is a “tweaked” LGB figure - here seen coupling up the wagons.
